Volunteer’s Week Celebration at Disability Equality (NW) Community Hub

This year Disability Equality (NW)’s annual Thank You and Celebration Event for our Volunteers took place in the Community Hub, on Thursday of Volunteer’s Week (5th June 2025). Following each active Volunteer being presented their Certificate of Thanks, the group took part in two rounds of a Play Your Cards Right-styled game, hosted by Mel, supported by Matt. and Beth.; later in the afternoon, following the games, all present were invited to join for a buffet of sweet and savoury foods, including fruit kebabs, quiche, pastries, and fresh fruit.

May’s Monthly Monday Wellbeing Walk

Lots of “M”s in there hey?! Well we did enjoy ourselves! Following a half-mile walk to Moor Park, Preston, starting at the Disability Equality (NW) Community Hub: the group in-attendance chatted and walked on a 2.3 mile circular route along footpaths within the park, stopping to discuss seasonal plants, the Pavillion, the upcoming 100th Anniversary of the Jeremiah Horrocks Observatory in June 2027, and ongoing renovations in the parks announced in 2022.
