Scam Delivery Texts / Emails
Do NOT click on any links on texts or emails saying that you need to pay for delivery of a parcel.
Only click links on the website you ordered from, or their email saying the item had been dispatched.
If you didn’t order anything to be delivered, or you aren’t expecting a delivery and suddenly receive a text about a delivery, treat it as a scam.
Fake Online Stores
Only buy from reputable online retailers that you know are real.
Google for the genuine websites, don’t click “sponsored” posts on Social Media.
Be wary of any Social Media / Facebook Ads offering hugely discounted electrical goods.
Check the website link is genuine via: getsafeonline.org/checkawebsite
Bogus Charities
Only donate to trusted and well known charities.
Check the charity you are supporting has a registration number.
Don’t donate to any street vendor charities where the person offers to give you a book or leaflet, as they are mostly not legitimate.
Check the charity is genuine via charitycommission.gov.uk
