August’s Monthly Monday Walk and TryTheTrain Trip Number 1

Check out our recent photos from our August’s Monthly Monday Walk and TryTheTrain Trip #1. We went from Preston to Wigan, and back together. The Ticket Machine was one of the objects we saw and chatted about whilst at Museum of Wigan Life recently, and it’s a great example of every-day items potentially being a barrier for disabled people, but also items being created like this to make modern life processes faster than in years gone by.

DENW’s Safety in the Summer Event

We had a great day enjoying the Safety in the Summer event held at the Fabulous MET Tent… and the sun was shining for us too! A big Thankyou to all the organisations who supported us : Lancashire Community Police, Health Watch, Kate Billington Safety standards, Caritas Care. Speakers from LCC Health Protection service, Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service and Renaissance who arrived in their little bus Patricia. Here’s some photos from the day…

DENW Celebrates Preston Mela

Preston Mela has long been a key event in the south Asian community and the locals calendar here in Preston. We really enjoyed talking to everyone and giving out information about our Safety First Project and our other support services, as well as being a great chance to ask members of the south Asian community what activities they want to see in our new hub! Thanks as always to our amazing volunteers & Big Lottery and Preston City Council for funding! Here’s some photos from the event!
