Independent Living Advisor (ILA) – self-directed care
35 hours per week
An Independent Living Advisor is required to join our existing team as part of the Lancashire Independent Living Advice Service (LILS).
LILS is part of a consortium between Disability Equality NW and Cheshire Centre for Independent Living providing support, advice and payroll service across Lancashire for those who have chosen to manage their own social care using a personal budget from Lancashire County Council.
You will be responsible for providing initial and on-going support – often in clients’ homes – to enable budget holders to employ and manage their own personal assistants or to assist in the coordination of care agencies in order to meet their own support plan requirements.
 You will require excellent listening and communication skills.
 You should have experience and skills to manage client caseloads
 You will also need to demonstrate an up to date knowledge and understanding of the day-to-day issues and barriers disabled people face.
 You will need knowledge/experience of current social care delivery
Previous experience of work in the social care or related sector is desirable.
Fixed term contract for 6 months
(Continuation subject to performance and funding)
Salary: £18,478 per annum
Applicants must be flexible and able to travel independently across Lancashire.
